My Approach

I am a Humanistic Counsellor with counselling rooms in Weybridge. I work in a person-centred way which simply means I strive to build a collaborative, trusting relationship which will allow you to explore your thoughts, focus on your personal choices and how you might like to move forward.

I believe that everyone is different and unique, and everyone’s issues need different considerations and by offering elements of different approaches we work together to unpick what might be troubling you.

You have already taken the brave step of looking for a therapist, don’t hesitate and contact me with any questions.

About me

person-centred counselling in weybridge

I love what I do! I love supporting and empowering my clients and I love seeing the positive impact that counselling has for my clients. I aim to provide my clients with a friendly, warm, and down to earth approach.

I worked in marketing for many years and was always focused on understanding the customer. Over time I felt drawn to really understand people and made the decision to retrain as a counsellor and pursue a career that I was passionate about. I am now a qualified accredited counsellor with a Fdsc in Counselling from Greenwich University. I believe I bring a rich and diverse range of personal experience to my practice. I’ve been through life’s ups and downs and have experienced the difficulties and obstacles life can thrown at you. This coupled with my broad counselling background and my first-hand experience of parenting provide me with a balanced view on life and mature wisdom that benefit me within counselling.

Alongside my private practice for a number of years I have been working as a counsellor for a Young Person’s charity in Guildford who are partnered with CAMHS where I support young adults and adolescents on a wide range of issues. Previously, I was a counsellor at a Women’s support centre. I have also worked for a number of years as part of the bereavement support team at a Hospice offering bereavement counselling and bereavement group therapy.

I have experience working with a wide range of issues. I work according to the Ethical Framework for Good Practice of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy of which I hold accredited membership. Being an accredited counsellor is a quality status which means I am an experienced practitioner who has demonstrated a high standard of competence and ethical practise.  I have a Fdsc in Counselling from Greenwich University and hold an enhanced DBS.
